If you have been recently sexually assaulted, the most important first steps are to go to a safe place and seek medical attention. The following are medical care options:
DC Forensic Nurse Examiners (DCFNE)
DC Forensic Nurse Examiners (DCFNE) provides free, confidential forensic exams for students who have experienced sexual assault. Exams are offered in the MedStar Washington Hospital Center Emergency Department, and include a comprehensive physical examination, injury documentation, toxicology screening, and/or forensic DNA evidence collection. Exams are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The services are FREE.
The Department of Public Safety (DPS), 202-319-5111, will take students to Washington Hospital Center or students can get a free Uber ride there and back by calling the DC Victim Hotline at 1-844-4-HELP-DC.
